A CSIR-led team has successfully implemented an ICTs for Economic Empowerment project in the communities of Pomfret, Itsoseng and Vryburg in the North West Province. This project, funded by the Department of Science and Technology, seeks to empower local communities through the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs). |

Empowerment is achieved through extensive training of community members and the establishment of an MPCC . The MPCC offers ICT services to the community including e-mail, desk top publishing, training and business services support. The MPCC members have successfully completed training courses in the Microsoft Office curriculum and A+ and havel formally received their certificates at a graduation ceremony held at the Vryburg MPCC. |
