Science, Engineering and Technology Week
Lubisi and Tsilitwa - March 2001

| The Department of Art, Culture,Science and
Technology promote the importance of Science, Engineering and Technology
to the public and especially all school children throughout the country,
especially in rural areas. |
|
The ICT centres were opened up to all teachers, schoolchildren
and community members. The centre managers, trained by the CSIR,
demonstrated their skills in training learners and educators.
The CSIR promoted this event by having the Lubisi MPCC members
showcase their newly acquired PC skills to the MEC Stone Sizani
and Eskom representatives.

| Not only did the MPCC members excel at their
computer literacy, but the school children and teachers visibly impressed
the MEC with their uptake of the technology |

Students queued in the hot sun for an opportunity to intereact
with a computer.
During the Tsiltwa open day visiting members from a community in
Willowvale were impressed by the newly acquired skills of the Tsilitwa
MPCC.
