Science, Engineering and Technology Week
Lubisi and Tsilitwa - March 2001

The Department of Art, Culture,Science and Technology promote the importance of Science, Engineering and Technology to the public and especially all school children throughout the country, especially in rural areas.

The ICT centres were opened up to all teachers, schoolchildren and community members. The centre managers, trained by the CSIR, demonstrated their skills in training learners and educators.

The CSIR promoted this event by having the Lubisi MPCC members showcase their newly acquired PC skills to the MEC Stone Sizani and Eskom representatives.

Not only did the MPCC members excel at their computer literacy, but the school children and teachers visibly impressed the MEC with their uptake of the technology

Students queued in the hot sun for an opportunity to intereact with a computer.

During the Tsiltwa open day visiting members from a community in Willowvale were impressed by the newly acquired skills of the Tsilitwa MPCC.
