Cala town is situated in a mountainous area, surrounded by
shrubs and bushes. This is the place where Rose and John Faku
were blessed with their last born in 1966, by the name of Cikizwa
Mange {nee Faku}, the youngest daughter and last born in the
family of four children.
My father, the only bread winner in the family, left us with
our mother at home. It was hard because my mother was not working
and my father did not support us fully. So my mother had to
sell fruit for our living and well being. I also had to assist
her by selling the fruit. My brother passed standard ten and
got a job in Welkom, my sister obtained her teachers course
so they took care of the family.
Things were a little better and I passed standard ten, worked
as a teacher aid in 1986 at Lower Seplan J.S.S. In 1987 I went
to Lumko college of education and completed in 1989. In 1990
I was employed also at Lower Seplan J.S.S as a permanent educator.
I got married and I'm still living with my in-laws, both pensioners.
A mother of four kids, three girls and a boy.
In 1997 I obtained Further Diploma in Education. Currently
studying Bed at the University of Orange Free State. I coach
soft ball and netball in my school. I am also a Sadtu site steward.
I always wish to help my parents until death do us part. Also
want to help and guide my children until they are fully grown
ups to take care of themselves.

There is a village in a very small town, Lady Frere where the
Cicada river juts out to supply its reagents with its tasty
soft water. People of this place, though remote live a positive
healthy life. Like all other rural areas people had respect
- young for old, unlearned for educated, people to creatures
and rituals, youth developments, women clubs and a lot more.
This is the environment where I was born
My immediate parents also were born at Comical village by my
grandparents who moved from the former Casket. My grandfather
started a school with a aim of disclosing the academic potential
of the nearby villages. This was bucketful because the successors
had taken over till to date producing heterogamous professionals
and independent in'dividuals. His wife who happened to be anurse
at Barragwanath hospital in Joburg preffered to work only for
a short while and became a maternal mother of her four children,
until they too became independent professionals. One of them
gave birth to me m 1964.
I started teaching in 1993 as a permanent teacher at Lower
Seplan JSS. I registered for Bachelor of Arts with UNISA 1994.
Presently I am a mother with four kids. My first priority is
to get the four of them properly educated. Religiously I am
a Christian and I love the church. Ideally I would love to own
my own business and employ people so to contribute towards ending
unemployment. That would also help in the development of our
youth and help fighting this crime scourge that has engulfed
our communities.
