The school was founded by the Methodist church as a Mission
school. It was situated at Seplan Mission in the Indwana Administrative
Area in Cala. It was a higher primary School starting from Sub-
A to Std 6 .Classrooms were made of rondavels . There were no
sports grounds .The school had diligent teachers and enthusiastic
learners. This caused the school to produce excellent results.
In 1973 the school, under the leadership of the then principal
Mr. H.B. Sigenu, moved to the government site which is not more
than a kilometer from the Mission site with the help of the
community. The school had 8 members of teaching staff.
In 1974 the school presented 19 candidates in which 10 obtained
first class passes and 9 second classes .The school won a floating
trophy for the Best result . In 1975 the school curriculum was
extended with the inclusion of the std 7 to make the school
a junior secondary school. One teacher was included to the staff
to make 9 teachers. A post of vice principal was also introduced.
In 1976 the school won the Zonal Soccer Tournament and the
zonal music competitions in preparation for the Transkei Independence
Day. One teacher was included to the staff to make the total
of 10 teachers. In 1977 the school won the Zonal Soccer Tournament
and represented the Zone in the District Championships in which
it lost the final by 0-1. In the same year the school obtained
the best results in the district and won the floating trophy.
The school won the netball tournaments from 1982 to 1988 and
from 1990 to 1998. The school won soccer in 1982,1984,1986,1987,1990,1991,1993,
1995,1997,2000 and 2001. The school won the music competitions
in 1998 and 2001 in double quartet and intermediates .
The school now has 624 learners ,12 teachers , 2 heads of division
,a deputy principal and a principal.
