Bumbana village looks as beautiful as a flower, that lies between the valley. In summer it brightens like a rose. In winter it's something along the verlep flower. This valley is along the mountainous town Cala.

Background

This young baboon(clan-name), was born and raised-up on this village, during the self government rule under RSA in Transkei. My family struggled to grow me up because of poverty at that time. I did my primary education at B.B Mdledle junior secondary school. After obtaining matric at Mazibuko senior secondary school, I went to search for work on a farm. There I worked for four years trying to obtain money to go back to school. I was cooking for makulu baas, where I earned only R60.00 per month and somehow managed very well.

I went to Lady Frere district to further my studies. I obtained my secondary teachers diploma there. Now I am a fully grown woman blessed with a young naughty boy. I then registered with U.P.E in 1999 for a B.Ed degree majoring in maths and science, and I obtained it this year. Currently, I am registered for an Honours in science.

Activities
I am an educator at Seplan J.S.S teaching Grade 5&6 Maths and Science. I have registered with University of Port Elizabeth for honours in technology. I train netball and music at the school. I am a member of Sakhisizwe choir. I am an athlete who takes part in marathons that always takes place around October at Butterworth.

Ideals and long term objectives
My aim in teaching science, is to help develop skills that learners need to have and identify so that they are exposed to technology at an early age. I think they will have ability to do their own projects like fault-finding, engineering and construction. Others will be doctors, nurses, future leaders and professors.
In 5 years time I would like to be an accountant in order to help in the development of my community. I also want to improve the standard of my learners in class and in life in general, to provide information and technology skills to my learners.
